Wine Bar=Chic

There is a swank Wine Bar located at La Encantada called ARMITAGE.  ARMITAGE offers wine tastings, Happy Hour, Lunch Menus, Live Music and more to attract your pallet.  I personally LOVE French Martini's or Moscat di Asti wherever I go and they have both so I give them two thumbs up!  Cheers!

Designer Find I had to share: Rachel Roy

I L-O-V-E Rachel Roy, so I had to share that I found pieces on sale at Avenue Boutique and at Off Fifth.  In both places I about jumped out of my new shoes that I just got because I didn't know that Tucson carried anything by Rachel.  Now, I have a couple of pieces by her because I was lucky enough to shop her sample sale in her showroom!  Very exciting experience I have to say...and I still receive the invites...boo hoo:(

Well, on to the next...if you see any of her pieces anywhere else in AZ, please share:)

New Year, Comes with Some Changes---but, nothing too dramatic;)

Big News!  Erin will now be the owner of Pou Moi.  The delightful fashionista that you always saw in the store, yes, that is it, Erin!  I am excited to see a young business minded fashionista receiving an opportunity like this.

I spoke to Erin and there are no worries, she knows the Pour Moi customer and will not be making dramatic changes.  The look will remain the same, the well-known fashion shows will remain, but, a couple of new (not getting rid of the old) designers will be introduced into the boutique.  Erin says that the boutique will also stay open a little later on Fridays and Saturdays with the opening of Zin Burger (which I still need to try).
So go in soon, there is still a HUGE sale, 40-60% going on right now and Spring trends will start coming in this week as well.

Pssst: Bad News, Good News

We are losing Nine West in Tucson.  The store at Tucson Mall will be closing by the end of January.  The good news, the going out of business sale has started and everything in the store is 30% off!  The bad news is, you will have to go all the way to Scottsdale Fashion Mall to get your trendy shoe fix from Nine West.

Sunday Brunch: Tucson, Arizona

When I moved to Tucson, I really didn't think that there were places to "brunch."  Now, brunching can be a dressy after church type of function on a Sunday, or or a I stayed out all night on Saturday relaxed look with a hangover:)  But, brunches to me are a necessity.  It's just nice to have somewhere to start your week with friends in a more late in the day relaxed way.  New Yorkers do brunch and when I went to LA a couple of months ago I saw that people in LA enjoy brunching on Saturday and Sunday.

Places to brunch in Tucson:
Acacia @ St. Philips
Jazz Brunch 10-2 on Sundays

Blue Willow
More of a laid back ambiance, but still a close fit to a brunch and they serve Mimosa's~an essential for brunch of course:)

Arizona Inn
I have never been to this location, but it looks fabulous.  You do have to call to make reservations and it looks like this would be the place to wear your nice summer dress.  This probably would be a place where people would say is for "special occasions".  I love and excuse to dress up, so I think this is for any special Sunday:)

Cup Cafe at the Congress Hotel
I love this location!  The entire building is full of surprises and the food is AMAZING!  It feels like  a creative getaway in Tucson.  I go here with my husband or alone with a magazine or a book.  This is very casual and in the downtown area.

Hacienda del Sol Grill
Since we are in the southwest, it just seem right to go to a brunch featuring Mexican food.  Check out this resort for Sunday Brunch that is rated one of the top resorts by Zagat Survey!  This is on my lists of to do's for venturing out in Tucson:)

Summer Frocks Remixed

*I would wear this with a brown turtleneck...but, everyone else might think it is safer to go with a cream/off white color.  This color is still great for the winter because it is still all about jewel tones.
With the climate here in Arizona, why not remix the clothes that you rocked during the summer?  I saw a fashionista friend wearing a skirt, or so I thought and I had to ask where she got it...It turned out that the skirt, was a tube dress that had ruching at the bust and she just pulled the dress down to look like a high waist skirt and added a turtleneck.  The whole look was a jersey knit and looked so chic!  So, why not, REMIX what you can and make it work for our "winter" season.

Side note:
I love, love, love, love this dress below....it has the hood and it has the pockets...just a perfect casual piece to wear over the weekend.

The Best Way to Start a New Year, Meet New People

With all of the changes you plan for yourself, why not meet new people for the "new you..."  Well, tonight, at the Tucson Museum of Art, a program called First Fridays is having a networking gathering for young professionals.  I love the idea...I used to do the same type of events in New York...It is always nice to see other young professionals to see what they do or just to meet new people. The cost is $20 without a membership to the museum and $10 if you do have a membership.
